We’ve planted our roots in Yorkshire and we believe in giving back to the place we call home.

Whether it’s raising valuable funds for our nominated charity of the year or pledging our support in the community from our Kindness Pot, we are passionate about lending a helping hand to local causes in the ways they need it most and bringing communities together.

Our Charity of the Year

We are thrilled to reveal that following a landslide team vote victory, our 2024-2025 Charity of the Year is Martin House Children’s Hospice! At Yorkshire Garden Centres, we are passionate about supporting local charities that make a real difference in our community. Each year, our team votes for a charity that is close to their hearts, and this year, Martin House was the overwhelming choice.

Martin House provides specialist care and support for babies, children, and young people with life-shortening conditions across West, North, and East Yorkshire

The Kindness Pot

We know that giving back to causes is something very close to our team’s hearts. And we are lucky to have the biggest hearts, most helpful hands and thoughtful minds… that’s why it’s so important to us that we give our whole team the opportunity to give back to causes they care deeply about!

The Kindness Pot donates time, money or products to meaningful causes and each member of our team can submit a kindness request to support a charity or community initiative that means a lot to them.

  • Our Head Baker, Lee, donated this hamper to help raise funds to support his running club, South Leeds Lakers

  • Shannon, our amazing Sundries Supervisor, donated festive garlands and baubles to her daughters school, bringing the spirit of Christmas to life with glitter and sparkles!

  • Alfie from our Plants Team donated to WWF to help restore precious habitats and protect wildlife

Climate & Community

We care passionately about how we do business and are proud to have a robust ‘Climate and Community’ commitment through our FOUR PILLARS that details our pathway to sustainability, the active role we play in our local community and the caring culture we have created for our people.

  • Now more than ever, we recognise that we must do more to support climate action.

We’re committed to reducing our impact on the planet with many sustainable practices already implemented and plans in place for a more sustainable future.
